DEVA Party's Response to the Street Dog Issue in Beykoz

DEVA Party Beykoz District President Şenol Korkmaz made a statement regarding the issue of street dogs in Beykoz, following the tragic death of a young child in a dog attack in Konya.

Korkmaz emphasized that street dogs pose a serious threat in Beykoz, recalling that, according to the municipality’s data from 2022, there were approximately 30,000 street dogs in the district. He pointed out that sterilization and control programs have been insufficient, and he estimated that this number has likely increased further.

"The public is disturbed"
Korkmaz stated that the people of Beykoz are seriously disturbed by the situation and reacted to the political figures who raised the issue being labeled as "animal haters." He argued that the issue is being marginalized by certain groups, and the majority of society is suffering from it.

"The municipality must take urgent action"
Korkmaz urged the Beykoz Municipality to take immediate action before more lives are lost. He called for streets and city traffic to be made safer and emphasized that the public is waiting for immediate service on this matter.
